ENROLMENTS

We offer independent, non-denominational education for children from Kindy to Year 12.

Follow our simple steps, including completing our online Enrolment Application form, to open the door to your child’s brilliant future.

Steps of the Process

Please follow our easy process to complete your application. To find out more, contact our Enrolments Team who are here to make the application process as easy as possible for you.

Step 1: Visit Us

If you'd like to know more about us, please call and speak to our Enrolments Team on +61 (07) 3454 4447 during office hours.

Step 2: Apply Online

Complete your Enrolment Application form online and pay the non-refundable $110 (AUD) application fee. You will need to scan a few important documents to complete your application.

Step 3: Interview

The School will contact you to make an appointment.

Step 4: Offered a Place

Post-interview, you will be notified of your child's application result.

Step 5: Acceptance

To accept the offer, you will need to pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of $500 with your written acceptance.

Step 6: Orientation

Parents need to submit an Orientation Form, including medical details, prior to their child's start date.

We are delighted that you are interested in a Grammar education for your child. Please see below, some required documents that you will need for your Enrolment Application form.

Please scan a digital copy of your child's birth certificate or their passport.

Please have ready your child's last two academic reports as applicable.

From Years 3, 5, 7 and/or 9 as applicable.

Scholarships

We offer scholarships to students from Year 7 entry to foster the development of young women who show exceptional promise and could greatly benefit from the School's comprehensive educational approach. The school's Scholarship Program is aimed at acknowledging and promoting students who excel academically and participate actively in co-curricular activities such as the Arts and Sports. 

Applications for the 2027 school year will open in late 2025.  

Scholarships are open to Australian students only.


Academic Scholarships reward and recognise new and continuing students entering Years 7 to 12 at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School who demonstrate academic excellence. 

Selection is based on results of a scholarship examination, recent academic reports, a record of excellent behaviour and an interview (shortlisted candidates only). 

Students are expected to participate actively in all aspects of a well-rounded education and support others at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School.

Defence Force Family Scholarships are offered to new and continuing students entering Years 7 to 12 who are members of serving defence force families in recognition of the significant contribution and sacrifice the families make whilst serving our nation. 

Selection is based on the strength of the applicant’s portfolio and an interview.  

Students are expected to participate actively in all aspects of a well-rounded education and support others at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School. 

Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School provides educational opportunities for young women based in rural locations to be educated at the School from Years 7 to 12. 

Rural Scholarships are open to young women who demonstrate either academic, sporting or arts ability, or leadership potential. To be eligible for a Rural Scholarship, students must meet all of the following criteria. 

What the scholarship covers: 

  • The Scholarship partly covers tuition and boarding fees. 
  • The Scholarship is not applied to fees incurred for individual tuition for example Speech and Drama, Tennis, Instrumental Music or Singing which may be taken in addition to the established curriculum subjects. 

To be considered a regionally based student, the student must reside in a regional or remote area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) with a postcode of 4350 or above (for Queensland based students) - https://www.qtac.edu.au/scholarships/eligibility 

Applications for Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School’s Special Ability Scholarships – Performing Arts are open to students entering Years 7 to 12 who demonstrate excellence in Performing Arts through exemplary dedication and willingness to commit to the school’s curricular and co-curricular Arts program.  

Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School’s Special Ability Scholarships – Sport are open to students entering Years 7 to 12 who demonstrate excellence in sport and a willingness to contribute to the School’s sporting activities through their participation, their representation of the School in competition and their encouragement of other athletes. Selection is based on the applicant’s portfolio and an interview.  

Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School is a proud member of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA).

Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association is an association of schools that was established in 1908. It aims to be the leading secondary schoolgirls sports association and a passionate promoter and advocate for young women in sports. The Association provides a suite of innovative, targets, high-quality sports programs for students in member schools that encourages participation and elite performances in respectful, safe and healthy environments. Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School (IGGS) is an Educational Partner of the AIEF and offers a limited number of scholarships under the AIEF Scholarship Program. The AIEF Scholarship Program provides scholarships that enable Indigenous students in financial need to attend leading Australian schools and universities. 

AIEF Scholarships facilitate choice by removing the financial barriers that may prevent Indigenous students who want to pursue their education with IGGS from doing so. 

AIEF Scholarship holders are expected to participate actively in all aspects of an all-round education and support others at IGGS. Selection is based on the applicant meeting AIEF Scholarship eligibility criteria, together with criteria determined by the School. 


Bursaries available for Middle and Senior School students

We offer both tuition and boarding bursaries of up to 25% to assist families who may require short-term support with school fees due to hardship or emergency circumstances, or whose financial situation has fundamentally changed.
