My Grammar

Transport

Our heritage-listed campus is located in the city of Ipswich and overlooks the beautiful Bremer River. We are on the corner of Queen Victoria Parade and Chermside Road, East Ipswich. Our main entrance is via Chermside Road.

Drop Off and Pick Up Zone

We have a clearly marked drop off and pick up zone for Ipswich Girls’ Grammar students just before our main entrance on Chermside Road. To keep traffic flowing, we ask parents to keep their engines running while their daughters disembark, or get into, their car. To ensure all our girls stay safe, please do not park or leave your car. Limited parking is available in our Visitor Car Park via our main entrance on Chermside Road for parents needing to visit the campus outside of these times.

Dedicated Bus Service

We provide our girls with a private bus charter service that we share with Ipswich Junior Grammar School and our brother school, Ipswich Grammar School.

Each year, our bus routes are revised in consideration of where our students live and how many stops/pick-up points can be accommodated along a route. For ease, the cost of bus transport is charged to your IGGS account.

Buses deliver students in time for the 8.15am start of the school day and depart from the School shortly after 3pm. Late buses, departing from 4.45pm, are available Monday to Thursdays for students who participate in activities after school.

All students wishing to use this shared charter bus service need to complete a Bus Service Application Form.

You can set up notifications for when your child is close to their stop or track the bus on the map. Bus Passes

Bus Passes are available on a full, half or casual basis.

Casual Passes are available to students who are not regular travellers on the charter bus services. A maximum of 10 trips per term can be taken at a rate of $10 per trip and are billed to the parent account. Additional trips cannot be taken, instead, students will need to move to a Half Fare Pass should they require greater than 10 trips in any one term. A Charter Bus Application form must be submitted for the issuance of a TransportMe bus pass and students are required to tap on and tap off for every trip.

Half Fare Passes are issued to students who travel 1-5 trips per week on the charter bus service. The rates are determined by the start point/destination. Students are required to tap on and tap off with their TransportMe bus pass. Half fare passes are not transferable and trips do not roll over. Should a student exceed 5 trips per week, students are transferred to a full fare pass.

Full Fare Passes are issued to students who are regular travellers on the charter bus service travelling 6-10 trips per week. Rates are determined by the start point/destination. Students are required to tap on and tap off with their TransportMe bus pass for student safety and reporting.

Note: The information above is in relation to the Premier Qld Bus Service and does not impact the Boonah Service.

TransportMe Smart Cards

Smart Cards will be issued as soon as possible after the commencement of the new school year, or as soon as possible for mid-term intakes. Students must carry their TransportMe Smart Card at all times to enable them to tap their cards as they board and disembark the bus. Read more about our TransportMe Smart Cards.
