PEARSONALISED LEARNING: Destined to Lead with Grit and Grace

At Ipswich Girls' and Junior Grammar School, our commitment is to nurturing globally conscious students who lead with grit and grace.

Our strategic World Ready priority focuses on providing customised learning paths, well-being strategies, innovative learning environments, and platforms for student expression.

We believe in delivering personalised education where each student is recognised by name and guided according to their unique needs and academic aspirations, supported by personalised Academic Action Plans which are frequently reviewed and updated. The school maintains active engagement with parents through access to these plans, regular meetings, and informative sessions.

"Our unique vision centres on fostering a love for lifelong learning and leadership built on resilience and grace."

To ensure inclusivity, we have robust assessment measures to identify students who may require additional help or seek more challenging material. The Head of Personalised Learning heads a dedicated Learning Support staff focused on assisting all year levels with English language support, learning adaptations, and capability enhancement. The support structure in Junior Grammar features specialised teaching staff for intervention and extension, addressing individual learning needs and facilitating seamless classroom progress. Junior Grammar provides a stimulating learning environment with access to cutting-edge digital, robotics, and virtual reality tools to prepare students for the evolving digital landscape.

Our Diligentia program caters to Gifted and Talented students providing them with advanced content and the opportunity to participate in external intellectual events. This program demands high performance, accessible through ACER testing or open enrolment at Year 9, with the student's progress being continually supported.

Embracing technology, we equip students with personal digital devices, enhancing the learning experience, creativity, and online interaction. The school advocates digital literacy while maintaining strict guidelines on proper technology use.

“Digital and internet technologies present significant learning opportunities for our students. We actively encourage them to become empowered learners in an increasingly interconnected and digital world.”

In Junior Grammar, the ethos is to imbue a confident 'I can!' mindset in each child throughout a balanced curriculum designed to instil academic excellence and personal growth values such as resilience, respect, and responsibility. A key aspect of this approach is the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans derived from extensive evaluation, ensuring that none of the students are overlooked in their educational journey.

At Ipswich Girls' and Junior Grammar School, we offer a comprehensive and tailored educational experience from Kindy to Year 12, consistently supporting, challenging, and extending students in their academic and personal development, ensuring they are ready to lead and succeed in a global setting.
