At Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School, we believe every student is destined to take on the world with grit and grace. Our commitment to academic excellence and holistic development is at the heart of our strategic priority: World Ready. We co-create global learning adventures with our students so that they love to learn for life and lead with grit and grace.
We are dedicated to supporting your child at every step of their learning journey.
“Our bespoke learning pathways and well-being strategies are designed to cater to the unique needs of each student.”
By delivering personalised education, we ensure that every student receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our innovative learning environments. We continually strive to create spaces that inspire and engage our students, fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. Our teachers, trained in the Dimensions of Learning and the Art and Science of Teaching frameworks, are highly experienced educators who know how to bring out the best in our students.
“We understand the importance of student voice in shaping a dynamic and inclusive learning community”.
We actively curate opportunities for our students to express their ideas, take on leadership roles, and contribute to the school’s success. This empowers our students to become proactive, confident leaders who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.
Quality teaching facilitates quality learning. We analyse each student’s abilities and academic opportunities through data collection to craft a Personalised Academic Action Plan. These plans are meticulously monitored to track academic development and determine the best ways to support each girl on her learning journey.
We offer a wide range of bespoke electives, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to explore their interests and talents. Our Gifted and Talented program challenges our high-achieving students, while our Learning Support program provides additional assistance to those who need it. This comprehensive approach ensures that all our students can achieve their full potential.
At Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School, we are committed to nurturing boys, girls and young women who are destined to be leaders, innovators, and compassionate global citizens. With a focus on academic excellence and a dedication to fostering grit and grace, we prepare our students to be world ready.
“Join us on this exciting journey and watch your child flourish in an environment that celebrates their unique strengths and aspirations.”
Our students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 took part in the National Assessment Programme for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) again in 2024. There are five core areas that are mandatory in all schools across Australia, which include numeracy, reading, spelling, grammar, and writing. These tests provide a snapshot of how well children are performing in those areas across the country.
For the Class of 2024, the ATAR results represent the culmination of 13 years of education. The entire Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School community is immensely proud of the remarkable achievements of our Year 12 cohort. While academic results are just one aspect of education, the ATAR scores mark a significant milestone in our students’ academic journeys.
Achieving high academic standards requires sustained effort, disciplined organisation, and unwavering resilience. We commend our students for consistently embodying the school values of diligence, excellence, and integrity.
We also want to acknowledge the crucial role of our teaching staff in supporting our students throughout their educational experience. Additionally, the success of our students is greatly supported by their families and close friends. It truly is a team effort.
