Ipswich Girls’ Grammar Year 12 student Montanna McAvoy is off to the Caribbean after being selected to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games. Montana has joined the Australian Athletics Team and will compete in the 3km event.

The Youth Games, held in the Bahamas next month (July 18-23), is an international multi-sport event organised by the Commonwealth Games Federation. More than 1,300 youth athletes, aged between 14 and 18 from the 70 Commonwealth Nations and Territories will compete in the seven-day event.
