Hack for Community Impact

Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School (IGGS) in partnership with Ipswich City Council (ICC) invites you to attend the inaugural #IGGSHACK Hack for Community Impact 2021.

Join bright minds, fresh thinkers, enthusiastic innovators, creative creators and community collaborators who are prepared to contribute and ideate to create change and drive impact.

The three focus areas for #IGGSHACK are:

  • Youth – Retaining youth talent
  • Safety – How to shift perception
  • Community – Community collaboration and new initiatives

Ipswich City Council (ICC) will provide data and information on the three key focus areas to assist teams who are working towards finding solutions and new initiatives.

Hack For Community Impact runs over a full weekend, giving you the opportunity to form a team around solving a problem that is meaningful and impactful for you.

Mentors, guest speakers and informational sessions help along the way to build a solution for these focus areas.

You will learn how to: Ideate, Validate and Pitch your ideas.



The event runs across 3 days from Friday May 21st to Sunday May 23rd.

  • Friday 5pm-8pm
  • Saturday 8am-5pm
  • Sunday 8am-2pm
  • Final Presentations from teams will be 12 noon sharp. Guests welcome to attend.

COST: $20pp ( $15pp IGGS Students)

WHO: Secondary School Students Years 7 – 12 and Adults.

Parking: Ample Onsite and Street Parking.

If you are participating in a team, it is advised that you are available and attend all 3 days of the event.

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no catering provided for the weekend. We advice all participants to bring their own food, snacks and drinks for the weekend. There will be barista coffee available Saturday & Sunday mornings. There will be light snacks and beverages served for the Sunday afternoon final presentation.
