Congratulations to our 2020 Seniors
Our Year 12 students embarked upon 2020 knowing that the first external exams since 1972 would dominate their Term 4 schooling program in the new Queensland Certificate of Education system. They had no thought that a global pandemic, school closures and remote learning would take place during their first three terms, thus exposing them to additional challenges.
As this letter attests, our Seniors coped admirably which underlines their personal and collective resilience, optimism, and work ethic. Their experiences were a shared experience and the students found encouragement and guidance in each other, their teachers, support staff and most importantly, in their family networks.
Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School is delighted to inform our school community of the academic successes of our 2020 Seniors.
- 99% attained a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or a Queensland Certificate of Achievement (QCIA).
- 90% were ATAR eligible.
- 19.4% received an ATAR greater than or equal to 95.
- 50% (median) received an ATAR greater than or equal to 90.
- The 2020 Dux of the School is Sophie Ivanovic.
Congratulations to the 2020 Year 12 students. The School is very proud of your academic, social, and cultural achievements in this year of unprecedented challenges. As you embark on the next phase of life beyond your school gate, know that you each achieved your personal best thus earning the praise of your family, teachers, and Old Girls.
