Met West football team rich in IGGS talent
Football is a popular co-curricular activity at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School. So much so, that six of our talented football players were selected to compete in the Metropolitan West team, finishing runners-up at the 16-19 years Queensland Schools Football Secondary State titles. Holly, Abigail, Mackenzie, Gabriella, Lani and Megan made up over one-third of the Met West team, with Abigail being named Player of the Tournament, a huge feat considering over 160 footballers competed at the event.
Abigail, Mackenzie, Gabriella, Lani and Megan are boarders at IGGS, living on campus at the School’s boarding facility, Cribb House. The girls are all from different areas throughout regional Queensland. Cribb House is a home away from home for more than 60 Australian and international boarders, all of whom are encouraged to become involved in the School’s many co-curricular activities, as part of the holistic education IGGS is renowned for.
